The word Theobroma means ‘Food of the Gods’ in Greek and is also a botanical name of the cocoa plant. It is owned by a Parsi family with Kainaz Messman as its founder and head of production. Kainaz believes in serving what she likes to eat. She serves smiles on a plate and spreads happiness by her special and unique flavours.

I stepped into the SDA outlet and was awed by its pastel interiors and exteriors. The ambience gives a nice and warm feeling of a place you wouldn’t want to leave too quickly. The place is small yet not congested at all. It is divided between two floors and the first floor has a nice view of the greenery outside. The walls are done beautifully, again in pastel shades.
One of the most loved and sought after bakery café in Mumbai is Theobroma. It has been running in Mumbai from the year 2004 and has 13 branches spread across the city. It has expanded its operations to Delhi NCR in 2017 and is currently operational in DLF Cyber Hub, Gurgaon, DLF Galleria, Gurgaon, DLF Mall of India, Noida and SDA market, Delhi. The good news is that it is soon coming up with two more branches in Select City Walk, Saket and Connaught Place.
The food and the desserts are as awesome as the place promises. They have a huge dessert menu serving brownies, mousse cakes, pastries, pies, tarts, macaroons, home-made chocolates and the list goes on. In the food menu, they have a variety of breads, croissants, sandwiches, rolls and much more. They also have hot and cold beverages to accompany the sumptuous food.

Overall, the place is a perfect spot to unwind yourself as you hog on to their delicacies and we are eagerly waiting for the branch to open up in CP and Saket, aren’t we?
